It sure feels like the week is flying by. I have had a lot to do in the past few days and haven't been around much. Nothing fun or exciting unless you like parent teacher conferences and getting new tires and all those mundane things . I did get to hit a few thrift stores with Maria but we really didn't find too much. She did find some wonderful VINTAGE MERCURY GLASS ORNAMENTS and has them up in her Etsy shop , go take a peek!

As many of you know we will be moving this summer to Japan , and I have been trying to find a home for Sofie. Well I met a girl over the weekend who seemed to be perfect. Her mom and daughter came over and visited with Sofie and things were great. I liked the fact that she too is a stay at home mom and has 2 small children both things I feel will help Sofie adjust to her new surroundings. I felt really good about it, she said we could come visit anytime we wanted and that she would email us photos. But seeing her big droopy eyes in the back seat of the Cadillac and the tears started to fall , when she realized that this momma wasn't getting in and going with her she started to whimper and cry ,I just lost it. That night was super hard on us all. The very next morning the phone rings at 9 am and I here Kristel on the other end and new it wasnt good. Sofie was sick and she was very worried about her because she cried the entire night. I spent a bit on the phone with her and could here for myself how upset she was. After questioning her further.. I realize I had been lied to. One of the main questions I asked both her and her mom was if she had a house or lived in an apartment, and the reason for that is SOFIE IS TERRIFIED OF HEIGHTS! She wont even get out of the back of our SUV willingly! I was assured it was a house , but in fact it was an apartment and my 96 pound precious girl was stranded on the 3rd floor with fear. I called Maria and we were on our way to try and help her down the stairs but it was useless, she truly has a phobia. So off to PETSMART to see what if anything we can do short of calling ANIMAL RESCUE. We wound up giving her some Benedryl and getting her a little groggy a few hours later and Kristels hubby was able to carry her down finally and we brought her home! I dont know how I will ever be able to part with her again.
It was one heck of a day...... to say the least! Thanks Maria for being there with me!

I am so excited about this swap . Christmas is one of my favorite times of year and this year will be extra special around our home since my hubby will be coming home for the holidays for his midtour visit. He has already been in Korea for 5 months, can you believe it?
Swaps have been a great way for me to keep busy through this time without him and I have truly enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful artists here in Blogland and see all the wonderful creativity you share daily.
For this swap you will make 1 hand crafted Item and then include one store bought Ornament. The hand crafted item needs to be along the lines of DECK THE HALLS examples… Holiday sign, mini wreath , garlands, anything that can be used to decorate for the holidays. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with! The ornament should be store bought and be in the 5-10 dollar range so that everyone is getting a nice ornament.
I will take sign-ups until Oct. 15th. Then assign partners shortly after that and packages will need to be mailed by Dec 1st.
Here are a few questions to help out your partners. Please emailme at firstname.lastname@example.org with your Name , Blog name and answers! Thanks everyone!
Color schemes for your tree and home?
Do you have a theme? Is it traditional ,vintage ,glitzy so forth….
Willing to ship inernational?
